Unveiled at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, CATL's latest innovation, the Shenxing Plus battery for passenger vehicles, sets new standards in electric vehicle technology. Utilizing lithium iron phosphate, this cutting-edge battery offers an impressive mileage of over 1,000 kilometers and can achieve a driving range of 600 kilometers with just a 10-minute charge.
The Shenxing Plus battery incorporates independently developed three-dimensional honeycomb materials to bolster the energy density of its negative electrode while effectively managing volume expansion during charging and discharging cycles. Pioneering a one-piece shell structure, it maximizes space utilization. Furthermore, the battery system has undergone optimization through CTB 3.0, resulting in a remarkable 7% enhancement in volume efficiency and an exceptional energy density of 205Wh/kg.
Chief Scientist at CATL, Wu Kai, emphasized the importance of forward-thinking in corporate innovation, stating, "The pace of innovation determines who leads the industry." Gao Huan, Chief Technology Officer of CATL's e-car division, revealed ambitious plans, forecasting the release of over 50 new models within the year.
